Manufacture DUFOUR, rare set of four panoramic wallpaper panels, early 19th century, "Les monuments de Paris : Scènes néo-classiques et vues stylisées de ville avec palais, jardins, colonnes monumentales et rivières animées", 201x201 cm - 201x201 cm - 201x227 cm et 202,5x78 cm (alterations, in its original state, wear marks, traces of folds and small visible accidents). Joseph DUFOUR (1754 - 1827) is a renowned figure in the history of French panoramic wallpaper. He founded the Dufour factory first in Mâcon, then in Paris, and developed his own technique using woodblock printing. He collaborated with draftsmen and engravers.
